O&R's Cocking Leads Joint Con Edison-O&R Relief Operation in Puerto Rico

O&R’s General Manager – Electric Operations Orville Cocking, left, a native of St. Catherine, Jamaica, is leading close to 120 overhead power line workers, technical specialists and support personnel from Con Edison and Orange & Rockland to aid in restoring power to Puerto Rico. Cocking holds a Civil Engineering degree from Temple University, and an MBA from Fordham University. The 12-year company veteran, shown here leaving JFK with crews, will manage damage assessment and restoration operations on the island over the next several weeks. More than 70 vehicles from the two companies roared away from the docks to their staging areas today on the beleaguered island after a 12-day voyage from New Jersey.
