Orange & Rockland Workers Headed to Gulf Coast to Aid with Hurricane Ida Restoration

Orange & Rockland crews are among 40 workers and equipment being sent to the Gulf Coast region to help restore overhead power lines and electric equipment following the devastation wrought by Hurricane Ida.

Crews from both Orange and Rockland Utilities and Con Edison Company of New York are preparing supplies, vehicles, and equipment, and expect to begin the drive to the Gulf Coast early Monday morning.

Energy companies regularly send workers to other regions to help repair equipment and restore service as quickly as possible in the wake of extreme weather events.
