About
Residential Rockland Electric customers can earn $50* for recycling old, working appliances at designated drop-off locations. Appliances will be recycled responsibly, and customers can put their rebate toward a new, more energy-efficient appliance.Customers can drop off up to four room air conditioners and dehumidifiers per event, with a maximum of 12 units through June 20, 2027. In order to receive a rebate, qualifying appliances must:
- Be a dehumidifier or room air conditioner manufactured no later than 2019
- Be in working condition, with no exposed wiring or sharp edges, to ensure safe handling

Step 1: Ensure Eligibility
Rockland Electric residential customers aged 18 or older can bring up to four eligible appliances per event (maximum 12 appliances) through June 20, 2027. Review the program’s terms and conditions to confirm your appliance is eligible.
Step 2: Bring Your Appliance and Participation Form
Find an upcoming event and bring your eligible appliance and a completed participation form.
Step 3: Receive Your Reward
For every eligible appliance you drop off, you will receive a $50 check by mail sent to your account address approximately six weeks after the event. For more information on receiving your reward, visit the program’s terms and conditions.
