Enroll Your Home Battery to Earn an Average of $180 per Summer
It pays to be a Smart Saver. Enroll your battery and start saving.
If you are a residential customer who already owns a home battery, you can earn money just by enrolling in our Smart Savers Battery Program. Smart Savers is an easy way to get more value from your battery while helping the electric grid in times of high energy demand.
How it Works:
- Enroll your eligible home battery
- During a few peak-demand events each summer, we’ll automatically use a small portion of your battery’s stored energy to relieve stress on the energy grid
- For every average kilowatt-hour of energy we use from your battery – you’ll earn $50
You can expect a maximum of 15 ‘adjustments’ each summer (May 1 through September 30), unless there is a power emergency.
The adjustment periods for Smart Savers participants will likely take place from 12 p.m. – 11 p.m. during the week and will typically last no longer than four hours.
Payment will be delivered to your personal email address in the form of electronic gift cards OR, if your battery is leased/financed, can be sent to the OEM/manufacturer to cover costs.
