Frequently Asked Questions About MyHEAT
MyHEAT is a technology company specializing in aerial thermal infrared imaging to help homeowners identify and reduce heat loss. By capturing rooftop thermal data, MyHEAT provides clear visual insights into where heat may be escaping from a home.
Through its educational platform, MyHEAT offers homeowners a comprehensive view of their property’s heat performance, enables comparisons with similar homes in the area, and connects users to energy-efficiency programs that promote cost savings and improved comfort.
Rockland Electric has teamed up with MyHEAT to provide a personalized experience for customers to learn about their home’s heat loss and energy-saving opportunities. This information is provided for informational purposes, and you are not required to complete any actions suggested by the platform. We do recommend, however, learning more about available rebate programs.
As a Rockland Electric Company customer, there is no cost for you to access Heat Loss Insights through your unique online profile.
Thermal data was collected using a high-precision sensor in Dec 2024 for homes within the program area. The data was captured by an aircraft flying at night when outdoor temperatures were near freezing, ensuring optimal conditions for accurate thermal imaging. This process is similar to how mapping platforms like Google Maps gather aerial imagery. To protect privacy, MyHEAT’s sensor cannot see inside homes or through structures.
After collection, the thermal data is processed using advanced machine learning algorithms to identify areas of heat loss from a bird’s-eye view. The analysis produces unique heat loss ratings and detailed heat maps for individual buildings, which are shared with customers through MyHEAT’s educational platform.
