Home Weatherization for Income-Qualified
Income-qualified customers may be eligible for energy upgrades at no cost.
The Home Weatherization for Income-Qualified program is designed to make it easier for low- to moderate-income customers to upgrade their home to a more energy-efficient one.
Eligible customers will receive:
- A comprehensive energy assessment of their home,
- Direct install measures (such as showerheads, aerators, LED bulbs, power strips, etc.), and
- Based on the assessment & diagnostics, recommendations may include the installation of
- weatherization measures (insulation, air sealing, duct sealing),
- health & safety improvements to overcome barriers to weatherization measures.
- repairs or replacement of water heating, heating, and/or cooling systems
- Energy education to better understand participants' usage pattern, practices, and action steps
Your energy advisor will work with you to plan these upgrades (which are determined on a home-specific basis) for future visits, and one or more of our participating contractors will contact you for scheduling.
Eligibility Requirements
- You are a Rockland Electric residential electric customer who is responsible for the Rockland Electric Company bill.
- You have an annual household income that is within the income ranges listed in the chart below. (If you do not meet this requirement, you may be interested in our Comfort Partners, Home Energy Assessment, and/or Whole Home Energy Solutions programs.)
- Finally, you have permission to make energy-saving upgrades at your residence. Renters may need to have their landlords’ approval to participate.
