IBEW Local 503 Membership Ratifies Contract Extension With O&R

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 503 last night ratified a three-year extension of its current labor contract with Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc. (O&R).

The key updates to the existing contract primarily address wages, medical coverage, and benefits.

O&R Director of Labor Relations Vany Vargas said, “Our mutual goal was to reach a settlement that would be fair and equitable to employees while also meeting our responsibilities to our customers. We believe that the contract extension achieves this goal.”

The current contract has been in effect since June 1, 2019. O&R has 1,098 employees, 582 of whom are represented by Local 503.
