An O&R employee will perform the required gas meter exchange. O&R employees are required to carry company ID and will drive a company van with the O&R Logo on the side of it. An O&R employee will politely show their ID to the customer when asked. If you are still not sure if the person works for the company, call O&R at 1-833-460-7059 to get confirmation.
The meter exchange takes approximately 45 – 60 minutes. During this process, we’ll inspect your appliances before the exchange and after to make sure everything is working safely.
If you rent your home or business, please contact your landlord or property manager. Call O&R (1-877-434-4100) to update your account with landlord or property manager information.
Yes, your gas service will be temporarily shut off to complete the gas meter exchange for approximately 30 – 45 minutes.
We ask that you keep the area around the meter free from debris and/or foliage and provide clear and safe access to your gas meter and appliances.

Once the meter is identified for exchange, the meter exchange is mandatory. There is no customer opt-out policy. Because this is required by law, failure to schedule an appointment may lead to an interruption of your gas service until this work is completed.
