Old Tappan Neighborhood Gets Electric Service Improvements
Rockland Electric Company has begun a $346,000 project to rebuild part of its underground electric system in the Borough of Old Tappan.
The project is scheduled to continue through Friday October 5, weather permitting. This is scheduled repair and replacement work to strengthen and improve the reliability of the electric system.
The contractor performing work, Colonnelli Brothers, will be trenching 2,200 feet along Greenwood Drive and Churchill Road to install new electric cable to 10 transformers, serving approximately 30 customers.
The crews will be performing the work between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Traffic control flaggers, cones and signs will be fully deployed for workplace safety. The necessary permits have been obtained.
The affected customers are being notified of the project by letter from O&R. Access for customers will be accommodated at all times and trenches will be made safe at the end of each day.
