O&R Employees Raise $16,000 for Homeless Veterans’ Housing in Rockland
Orange & Rockland (O&R) employees presented a check for $16,000 to Homes for Heroes of Rockland Friday to help further the organization’s mission of providing housing for local homeless U.S. military veterans.
The O&R employees raised over $11,000 for the veterans’ program by sponsoring an early November Saturday afternoon live music event at the Rockland Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) Pavilion in Orangeburg that drew about 200 generous employees, retirees, family members and friends. The remaining $5,000 was donated by O&R as a match through its Employee Grants program.
