O&R Volunteers Clean Up Holiday Wreaths From West Point Graves
O&R volunteers pitched in yesterday to help pick up the holiday wreaths they and others had laid last month at over 7,000 graves in the cemetery at the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Through its Community Investment Committee (CIC), O&R fielded a volunteer team to help place the wreaths and donated $5,000 to the ninth annual Wreaths at West Point observance, a local project affiliated with the Wreaths Across America program.
West Point’s cemetery is one of nearly 1,100 veterans’ cemeteries across the nation where volunteers placed over a million wreaths over the past holiday season.

Pictured here working at the cleanup with 25 other O&R volunteers are Brian Nugent, right, and his son Colin, both Middletown residents.
