O&R, Con Edison Crews Making Repairs to Restore Power Upstate in Aftermath of Severe Storm
Fourteen O&R overhead electric technicians, along with supervision, are working in Webster, NY outside of Rochester today to help restore power to thousands of Avangrid (NYSEG and Rochester Gas & Electric) customers whose electricity was knocked out Wednesday by a destructive windstorm that battered the upstate New York, Great Lakes and the upper Midwest regions.
The O&R personnel, who arrived in the area yesterday, currently are working along Lake Ontario with 75 Con Edison and company contractor technicians on repairs to three circuits serving over 2,700 customers. The O&R and Con Edison personnel and company contractors are part of the Consolidated Edison, Inc. (CEI) effort to render mutual assistance to Avangrid.
Approximately 200,000 customers were affected by the storm in upstate New York.
