O&R, Bon Secours Support Tri-State Chamber's Kucher's Kids Shoe Drive

The Tri-State Chamber of Commerce (TSCC) launched the 2nd Kucher’s Kids Shoe Drive here last Thursday, November 2,  at the Erie Trackside Manor in memory of Josef Kucher a beloved member of the Tri-State community and owner of Kucher Shoe Repair in Port Jervis.

For more than 40 years in his shop on Front Street, Kucher repaired and made shoes with master craftsmanship. He was killed in his shop in 2014.

Bon Secours Community Hospital and O&R participated in sponsoring this year’s shoe drive and the 2016 inaugural shoe drive. That campaign collected 1,017 new pairs of shoes and sneakers for needy children in the Tri-State community.

The children's shoe drive collection will continue through November 22. New children’s shoes can be dropped off at the following locations in Port Jervis: Tri-State Chamber office, 5 South Broome Street; Mad Dog Liquor, 291 East Main Street; The Gun Lady, 41 Front Street; or the Edward Jones office on 139 Pike Street.  For anyone wishing to mail in a donation, make your checks payable to the Tri-State Chamber of Commerce and mail to: PO Box 121, Port Jervis, NY 12771.
