O&R Crews in Va. to Help Restore Power in Hurricane's Wake
A dozen O&R overhead electric technicians, along with supervision, are in Richmond, Va. at this hour, getting their assignments to help restore power to 113,000 Dominion Virginia Power customers in southeastern Virginia whose electricity was knocked out over the weekend by Hurricane Matthew.
The O&R technicians are joining nearly 90 more Con Edison personnel and contractors who are part of a Consolidated Edison, Inc. (CEI) effort to render mutual assistance to Dominion.
The O&R contingent left late Sunday afternoon, stopped in Washington, D.C. about 3 a.m. today and arrived in Richmond about 11:30 this morning for on-boarding logistic and safety briefings.
The outage numbers right now for the other states hardest hit by Hurricane Matthew are:
- South Carolina: 416,000
- North Carolina: 372,000
- Florida: 226,000
- Georgia: 135,000
