Rockland Electric Donates $6,000 to Help Support Bergen OEM Training
Rockland Electric Company has donated $6,000 to help sponsor a two-day training conference held by the Bergen County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) at Bergen County Community College on September 29 and 30.
Public safety and emergency management professionals from around Bergen County used the training sessions to explore new methods for doing their jobs more effectively and safely and to inspect the latest in hi-tech emergency management support equipment such as drones.
The sessions also provided Rockland Electric, and other public safety partners, an opportunity to display various programs designed to support community safety. For example, Rockland Electric’s vegetation management exhibit featured a presentation about planting the right tree in the right place to prevent electric service damage and power outages. Pictured here at the exhibit are, from left: Bergen County OEM’s Lt. Matthew Tiedemann, Rockland Electric Company’s Certified Arborist Mark Beamish and Bergen County OEM’s Sgt. Barry Leventhal.
