O&R Donates $500 to Help Support Veterans' Hudson Valley Honor Flight
o mark Memorial Day this year, Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc. (O&R) has donated $500 to the Hudson Valley Honor Flight (HVHF), a non-profit organization that arranges free trips to Washington D.C. for U.S. military veterans. The veterans, mainly from World War II, and some from the Korean and Vietnam Wars, are honored with visits to war memorials and military monuments that reflect a grateful nation’s recognition, pride and appreciation for the veterans’ service, courage and sacrifice.
HVHF’s September 10th trip will mark the HVHF’s 1,000th veteran flown to the nation’s capital since the mission began in 2012.
HVHF asks the public’s help in its mission by locating veterans in the Hudson Valley who would like to partake in the flights to Washington D.C. If you wish to help, please contact HVHF through www.HVHonorflight.com.
