Boxes and Boxes of School Supplies Donated for Needy Kids

O&R has donated $8,000 in support of People to People’s Back to School with Dignity effort, a program that since 1994 has sent thousands of Rockland County’s most vulnerable children back to school each year ready to succeed.

O&R has contributed approximately $80,000 to this program since 2001.

People to People will begin distributing the back to school supplies to eligible families beginning July 27 between 9 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursdays and from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday.

Supplies include: calculators, binders, folders, notebooks, compasses, graph paper, pens, pencils, glue sticks, markers and more. The goal of the program is to have school supplies in the hands of the children for the first day of school. People to People expects to distribute 2,200 backpacks to needy youngsters before school starts.
