MEC's Annual Gathering Recalls Snyder, Hoff
Over 200 people attended the Milford Enhancement Committee’s (MEC) 12th annual “Welcome Party” gala last Saturday at the late Dick Snyder’s Foster Hill Farm in Milford. The celebration this year was dedicated to the memory of Snyder and the late Tom Hoff who were instrumental in establishing the historic Preservation Trust of Pike County and the Milford Enhancement Committee respectively.
The annual event supports the streetscape improvement work of the MEC including new sidewalks, sitting areas, landscaping and historic-style pedestrian streetlights. These “streetscape” improvements also improve safety and accessibility, making Milford’s central business district more pedestrian-friendly. No tax dollars are spent on MEC projects. This is the eighth consecutive year the Welcome Party has been sponsored by Pike County Light & Power Co.
