Understanding the Recent Outage Map Enhancements

To better communicate with our customers and municipal officials during a major storm or emergency that causes outages, we’ve made the following enhancements to our Outage Map. These enhancements provide more detailed information about the outages and electric infrastructure in the O&R service territory.

Here is an example of the Outage Map during a major storm. Traingles indicate outage locations. The numbers in red circles indicate the number of incidents in that area.

Clicking on the "Summary" tab will give you a table of "Outages by Area", including the percentage of customers affected in their county/municipality and the ETR Type (Global, Regional, Local and Incident).

Global – When the vast majority of all affected customers will be restored

Regional – When the vast majority of customers in a county will be restored

Local – When the vast majority of customers in a town will be restored

Incident – When a specific outage will be restored
