O&R has a long-standing policy prohibiting the posting of signs on our utility poles.

Staples, tacks and nails, typically used to affix these signs, create serious safety hazards to O&R employees when they work with the poles.

Further, such signs may obscure the pole's 10-digit I.D. number, hindering a customer's attempt to confirm pole location in order to accurately report power interruptions or pole damage. In addition, signs on poles may impair lines of sight at intersections, or otherwise become a visual distraction to motorists.
