What is Automatic Bill Payment (ABP)?

ABP is a convenient payment option that allows you to make automatic deductions from your bank account to pay the amount due on your monthly energy bill.

Why should I enroll in ABP?

ABP saves you time and money. It eliminates the need – and the expense – of writing monthly checks and paying postage. Plus, you never have to worry about a missed or late payment. There are no sign-up fees when you enroll and no transaction charges every time a payment is made.

I'm used to sending checks for payment of my energy bills. What if I forget that I'm on ABP?

Each time you get your energy bill in the mail, there will be a bill message reminding you not to write a check. If, for some reason you pay a bill twice, you will receive a prompt refund or bill credit, whichever you prefer.

How does ABP work?

When you enroll in ABP, you'll get your bill in the mail as you do now, but with a message reminding you NOT to pay by check. The message also will show the exact date when the automatic payment transaction will occur.

The amount due will automatically be deducted from your bank account unless you call us.

For your records, the amount paid will be reflected on your monthly bank statement. Plus, your energy bill will show the amount you need to deduct from your bank account balance.

When will payment be posted to my account?

A bill message in your monthly statement will show the exact date when the automatic transaction will occur.

My checking account is with my credit union. Can I still enroll in ABP?

Yes, you can sign up for ABP as long as you have an account with a financial institution that processes electronic debits.

What if I change banks?

If you change banks or account numbers, please contact us immediately. Or, you can submit a new ABP enrollment form at My Account.

What if I sign up for ABP and change my mind?

You may cancel your ABP enrollment at any time. There are no fees or penalties for withdrawing. Just contact us and you can go back to writing checks as soon as we process your request.

What happens if I have a question about my bill?

You have at least a week after the billing date before payment is automatically deducted from your bank account. That gives you plenty of time to review your statement. Should you have questions or concerns about your bill, call us immediately and we'll work with you to resolve them promptly. If the matter is not resolved to your satisfaction, you can request to stop automatic payment on a particular bill.

What if there's a mistake made in debiting my bank account?

ABP is a safe, secure and convenient payment option. In the event that we make a mistake in debiting your bank account, we'll immediately refund the erroneously debited amount. We will also reimburse you for any bank charges or fees incurred. In addition, we'll credit your account with $25 as a small token of your inconvenience.

How can I sign up for ABP?

Contact Us or go to My Account. Please have your utility account number and checkbook handy.
