O&R's Longhi Joins Orange Partnership Board of Directors

RIVER, NY. February 17, 2010 — O&R's President and Chief Executive Officer Bill
Longhi has joined the Orange County Partnership's Board of Directors as well as its
Strategic Planning Committee.
The Orange County Partnership is a
county-wide, private not-for-profit, joint business and government economic development
agency that works to enhance the quality of life in Orange County and increase the county's standard
of living by expanding the tax base and creating new and better-paying jobs.
Longhi said, "As part of O&R's continuing commitment to our region, it makes good business
sense for O&R to support and assist the Partnership's constructive efforts to strengthen
the Orange County economy. We all have a big stake in the community's success and
prosperity, and we are very supportive of those initiatives."
Longhi also serves as a member of the Board of Directors, Audit and Compensation
Committee and the Executive Committee of the Hudson
Valley Economic Development Corporation (HVEDC), a public-private
partnership that markets the region as a prime business location to corporate executives, site-selection
consultants, and real estate brokers around the globe.
Longhi is a member of the Board of Directors of the Rockland Economic Development Corporation
(REDC). He also is a member of the Board of Directors of Orange and Rockland Utilities,
Rockland Electric Company and Pike County Light and Power Company, all of which are wholly owned
subsidiaries of Consolidated Edison, Inc.
Prior to being named President/CEO of O&R in 2009, Longhi was Senior Vice President of Central
Operations for Consolidated Edison Company of New York. There, he was responsible
for the planning, design, operation and maintenance of the electric generation, transmission
and substations, the generation and distribution of the steam system, and contractor construction
activities for the company. He joined Con Edison in 1976.
He has held leadership positions in a number of utility industry organizations including: Chairman
of the Northeast Power Coordinating Council (NPCC) Reliability Council, member of
the North American Reliability Corporation (NERC) Planning Committee, chairman of the Association
of Edison Illuminating Companies (AEIC) Interconnect Committee, and member of the New York State
Reliability Council Executive Committee. He presently serves as Vice-Chairman of the Board of
NPCC. He also serves on the Board of the New Jersey Utilities Association and the Energy Association
of Pennsylvania.
He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Rutgers Center for Energy, Economics & Environmental
Policy and is a member of the Board of Directors and Finance Committee for Jawonio, a non-profit
organization for people with disabilities and special needs, in New City.
Longhi holds an Electrical Engineering Degree from Cornell University and a Power Systems Certification
from P.T.I. He has completed Executive Management Programs at both Penn State University and
the University of Michigan.
