O&R's Longhi Joins Orange Partnership Board of Directors

PEARL RIVER, NY. February 17, 2010 — O&R's President and Chief Executive Officer Bill Longhi has joined the Orange County Partnership's Board of Directors as well as its Strategic Planning Committee.

The Orange County Partnership is a county-wide, private not-for-profit, joint business and government economic development agency that works to enhance the quality of life in Orange County and increase the county's standard of living by expanding the tax base and creating new and better-paying jobs.

Longhi said, "As part of O&R's continuing commitment to our region, it makes good business sense for O&R to support and assist the Partnership's constructive efforts to strengthen the Orange County economy. We all have a big stake in the community's success and prosperity, and we are very supportive of those initiatives."

Longhi also serves as a member of the Board of Directors, Audit and Compensation Committee and the Executive Committee of the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation (HVEDC), a public-private partnership that markets the region as a prime business location to corporate executives, site-selection consultants, and real estate brokers around the globe.

Longhi is a member of the Board of Directors of the Rockland Economic Development Corporation (REDC). He also is a member of the Board of Directors of Orange and Rockland Utilities, Rockland Electric Company and Pike County Light and Power Company, all of which are wholly owned subsidiaries of Consolidated Edison, Inc.

Prior to being named President/CEO of O&R in 2009, Longhi was Senior Vice President of Central Operations for Consolidated Edison Company of New York. There, he was responsible for the planning, design, operation and maintenance of the electric generation, transmission and substations, the generation and distribution of the steam system, and contractor construction activities for the company. He joined Con Edison in 1976.

He has held leadership positions in a number of utility industry organizations including: Chairman of the Northeast Power Coordinating Council (NPCC) Reliability Council, member of the North American Reliability Corporation (NERC) Planning Committee, chairman of the Association of Edison Illuminating Companies (AEIC) Interconnect Committee, and member of the New York State Reliability Council Executive Committee. He presently serves as Vice-Chairman of the Board of NPCC. He also serves on the Board of the New Jersey Utilities Association and the Energy Association of Pennsylvania.

He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Rutgers Center for Energy, Economics & Environmental Policy and is a member of the Board of Directors and Finance Committee for Jawonio, a non-profit organization for people with disabilities and special needs, in New City.
