O&R Marks 5th Highest Electric Demand Day in its History

PEARL RIVER, NY June 9, 2008 — Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc. (O&R) set a record today as a result of the heat wave by posting the fifth highest daily electric demand in the Company's history.

O&R recorded an electric demand at the hours ending at 5 p.m. of 1,530 megawatts (MW). That demand surpassed the former fifth-place finisher on the top 10 all-time demand list of 1,528 megawatts (MW), a record set on July 18, 2006.

O&R's all-time, #1 demand record is 1,617 megawatts set on August 2, 2006.
