O&R Names Fuentes to Orange Community Relations Post

PEARL RIVER, NY January 14, 2008 — Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc. has named Eric D. Fuentes, a 19-year company veteran, as a Community Relations Manager covering the northern part of O&R's Orange County service territory.

In his new position, Fuentes, 42, will serve as O&R's primary community contact for the city of Middletown. He also will be responsible for liaison with the towns of Crawford, Forestburgh, Goshen, Lumberland, Mount Hope and Wallkill. In addition, he will cover the villages of Bloomingburg, Goshen and Otisville.

Tom Brizzolara, O&R's Director - Public Affairs, said, "Eric's background in working with customers whether through New Construction Services or through Gas Marketing coupled with his engineering background makes him a perfect fit for the Community Relations Department. He knows the technical end of the business and has successfully shown he can break that information down for customers. We welcome Eric to our talented team of community relations professionals."

Since coming from IBM to O&R in 1989 as a Commercial and Industrial Customer Representative, Fuentes has assumed a variety of duties with increasingly greater responsibility in that department, becoming manager in 1996.

In 1998, he was promoted to Section Manager - New Construction Services. There, he oversaw a staff of 13 who coordinate the installation of electric and gas facilities to new construction projects. That staff also is responsible for establishing and maintaining good business relationships with multiple large power customers.

Fuentes, who holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering technology from SUNY Binghamton, is a member of the Hudson Valley Builders' Association, the Monroe-Woodbury "Light up Our Lights" fund'raising committee and the MiddletownYMCA Annual Golf Outing Committee.

A graduate of the Leadership Orange program, he also is co-chair of the Selective Service Draft Board and a manager/coach in the Goshen Little League baseball program.

Fuentes lives in Goshen with his wife, Peggy, and the couple's children, Brandon, Erica and Liam.
