Metering System Specialist/Engineer

Orange & Rockland is seeking applicants for the position of Metering System Specialist/Engineer in its Customer Meter Operations department.

This position performs metering system work in the Customer Meter Operations department requiring considerable individual judgment to provide technical expertise related to all aspects of electric metering within O&R. The primary responsibilities include electric meter testing, program development, product evaluation, project coordination, and ensuring all federal and state regulatory requirements are met.

It is preferred that the qualified applicant has a bachelor's degree with five to seven years related business experience. Associate Project Manager/Customer Project Manager

Orange & Rockland is seeking applicants for the position of Associate Project Manager/Customer Project Manager in its New Construction department.

This position is responsible for analyzing field conditions and assisting the Operations departments with planning and scheduling of distribution installations for gas and electricity. This individual will provide accurate reporting to the Operations department on status of projects in progress for purposes of manpower requirements, budget considerations and material ordering schedules. In addition, this position will prepare and present information on service classification proposals, load studies, electrical equipment, as well as installations, service policies and procedures, technical data, alternate system studies, energy concepts, and other customer-oriented analyses for new construction projects.

The successful candidate must be familiar with all pertinent national, state and local electrical construction codes, company policies, tariffs, procedures and construction standards relative to customer installations and company facilities. The candidate must be knowledgeable of all natural gas rates, gas construction and state of the art gas metering, as well as be familiar with all AGA, ANSI, state and local codes and all technical aspects of gas equipment and related manufacturing processes.

The candidate should have a high school diploma/GED and two years related work experience for the Associate Project Manager position, or a bachelor's degree with 1-2 years related experience or working with the electric and gas systems, an associate's degree and four years work experience, or a high school diploma and five years work experience for the Customer Project Manager postion. Must be detail oriented, yet able to maintain a global perspective and make timely decisions accordingly. Must demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and apply individual judgement.

Must have excellent interpersonal and oral/written communications skills.

Program Adminstrator

Orange & Rockland is seeking applicants for the position of Program Administrator in its Customer Energy Services department.

This position is responsible for evaluating and responding to inquiries, orders, testimonies and filings from the public service commissions in NY, NJ and PA, related to demand-side management, to assist in the development of corporate strategies. The candidate will also be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the development, management, and implementation of C&I demand-side management programs and renewable initiatives, including providing energy efficiency recommendations to C&I customers based on results of on-site surveys, and calculating rebates available through Company programs. Additionally, the candidate will manage all vendors and technical architect and engineering firms to determine project measure level cost-effectiveness, and will recommend whether or not to proceed with an energy efficiency project based on the cost-effectiveness and customer payback.

The successful candidate must have a bachelor's degree preferably in engineering or a similar discipline. An advanced degree is preferred. The candidate must have at least two years of related demand-side management experience, as well as demonstrate a working knowledge of demand-side management fundamentals including program design, implementation, evaluation and cost-effectiveness processes. The candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as have experience writing formal documentation and requirements.

Knowledge of regulatory processes such as preparation of rate proceedings and participation in discovery processes is preferred.

Project Manager

This position performs project management work requiring considerable individual judgment. The primary responsibilities will be to provide the management of major construction projects, primarily for the electric and gas utility system infrastructure. This includes working with internal and external entities to obtain the necessary and timely approvals, permits, etc. for major construction projects. Responsibilities also include directing major system expansion, upgrade and construction projects. This involves responsibility for providing oversight and leadership for implementation of the project, providing monthly project progress and financial reports, directing field construction activities, and continually assessing contractor and Company manpower requirements, budgets and schedules.

Distribution Engineering Workstation System Administrator

This position is responsible for having specific technical knowledge which includes VB.Net, ASP.Net, DB2, and Object Oriented Design. COBOL and WebFOCUS a plus.

The candidate should possess the ability to complete multiple assignments with changing priorities while still meeting deadlines as well as the ability to perform some supervisory functions in support of or absence of team leader. The candidate will be responsible for having the ability to transfer knowledge to peers and train subordinates.

The candidate will be responsible for making recommendations for improving application design and implementation in light of process changes or changes in the business or technology environment. In addition, the candidate will need to follow up on recommendations, develop tangible implementation proposals and, if approved, develop detailed plans.

The successful candidate should possess an associate's degree or technical certification. A bachelor's degree is preferred. Must have a minimum of five years demonstrated work experience in a related Information Technology field.
