Here are the CIC community grants listed by county, organization and amount
for the first six months of 2004:
Rockland
- Arts Alliance of Haverstraw. $1,500 to help fund two exhibits.
- Summer Theater Festival of Clarkstown. $1,000 to help pay the cost
of costumes.
- The String Ensemble of Rockland. $1,500 to help fund the string ensemble
program.
- Rockland Opera Society. $1,000 to help fund the cost of the production
"The Marriage Contract" on April 24.
- The Youth Theater Experience. $750 to help fund its program designed
to provide an educational and cultural environment for youth to study
all aspects of live theater.
- Science, Inventions & Technology Fair. $1500 to fund prizes for
science competition.
- Transplants Save Lives, Inc. $1,000 to help sponsor a fundraising
walk-a-thon on April 25.
- Jawonio. $2,000 to help fund the Rock n'Roll Show fundraiser.
- New York Philomusica. $1,000 to help fund its "Summer Winds"
concert in Tappan.
- Help From People to People. $4,000 to help fund the "Back to
School With Dignity" program.
- Rockland Center for the Arts. $1,500 to help fund its Art Education
Outreach program.
- Orangetown Children's Society. $500 to help defray the cost of the
Arts & Crafts portion of its 2004 entertainment series.
- EPIC (Every Person Influences Children) $1,000 for the development
and implementation of a new curriculum.
- Helen Hayes Hospital Foundation, Inc. $1,000 for its Golf Instruction
for Individuals With Disabilities program.
- Wells Remy Crowther Charitable Trust. $2,500 to help defray costs
of the production of 2,000 audio CDs that feature a recording of a
concert in memory of a Rockland County volunteer firefighter who died
in 9/11. The CDs are to be sold to raise funds for the charitable
trust.
- Rockland County Jazz and Blues Society. $1,000 to sponsor the 20th
Summerfest.
- Hopper House Art Center. $1,000 to sponsor a signature exhibit.
- Rockland Parent-Child Center. $2,000 for its childcare curriculum
program.
- Association for the Visually Impaired. $1,500 to sponsor Vision Awareness
Month in October 2004.
Orange
- Community 2000 (Warwick Arts Festival) $2,500 to help fund the 2004
Arts Festival.
- Port Jervis Council for the Arts. $2,500 to help support the Arts
Walk, a one-day art exhibition.
- The Nature Conservancy. $1,500 to help fund an ecological restoration
program.
- Meals on Wheels of Middletown, Inc. $1,000 to replace office equipment.
- The Historical Society of Warwick. $1,800 to purchase six display
cases.
Sullivan
- Bloomingburg Restorations Foundation. $2,000 to help restore the former
Dutch Reformed Church, now the Cultural Center for Mamakating.
Bergen
- Ramapo College Foundation. $1,000 to help sponsor its 2004 Summer
Concert Series.
