Charge your EV during off-peak times to earn cash incentives year-round. Participating in SmartCharge New York not only earns you money, but also supports a strong energy grid.
Once you enroll and connect, charging data is automatically collected from your vehicle’s onboard telematics or smart charging station. The charging data is then used to calculate your earnings. You can access the SmartCharge website to view your charging and earnings at any time.

As you explore our incentives for electric vehicles, please remember to file all electrical upgrades, including the installation of Level 2 EV chargers at your residence. This step ensures your installation is safe and reliable. Your licensed contractor can submit upgrade requests through our Project Center for Building and Service Upgrades.

Charge in the Orange & Rockland service area to earn cash.
Eligibility Requirements
In order to participate in SmartCharge New York, you must:
- Own or lease a compatible plug-in hybrid electric, battery-electric vehicle, or a compatible charger
- Charge your EV within Orange and Rockland service area
You are not required to be an Orange and Rockland customer.
Electric vehicle drivers on a Residential Time of Use (TOU) rate under Electric Service Classes 1 and 2 are not eligible to participate in SmartCharge New York.¹
